In June we visited Catherine in her new home in Deans Marsh not far inland from the coastal town of Lorne. The coronavirus lockdown had been relaxed and it was wonderful to be able to see Olivia, Willow and Charlie again. We are now back in lockdown and will be for a minimum of four more weeks but the second wave of the pandemic is surging and it is likely that the lockdown will be extended. The views from Catherine's house are spectacular and look over a valley towards our old house in Bambra Cemetery Road from the top of the Parker's Road hill.
The Noosa Everglades is one of only two everglades systems on Earth. Known as the River of Mirrors because of the amazing reflections in the water, the Noosa Everglades, in the upper reaches of the Noosa River, is a 60km stretch of pristine waters, magnificent flora and fauna and narrow waterways.
The unique environment is relatively untouched, with 65% of its catchment in National Park and it's within the Noosa Biosphere Reserve.
In March, 2014 we set off for a four month stay in the south west of France. We based ourselves in a small town called Mazamet and took trips of four to five days to various parts of southern France.
This album contain images of many of the places that we visited. Unfortunately our SONY RX100 II was stolen from the back of our car towards the end of our stay and fortunately there were only a small number of images that we had not already transferred to our laptop. Fortunately we still had Jenny's SONY RX100 so that we were able to record the balance of our trip.
For the third time in two years vandals have severly damaged trees and plants in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The first episode in 2010 involved the Separation tree which was ringbarked about two feet above ground level. This is an historical tree and the staff at the Botanic Gardens have preserved the tree with a series of measures to ensure that it survives. In the second... + details
